The primary role of this position is to provide formulation resource for the development of new or modification of existing drug products.
Support design and development of new solution, suspension, gel, and solid oral products through preparation and characterization of prototype formulations
Develop fundamental understanding and proficiency in physical characterization of dosage forms including dissolution, DSC, solubility, particle size, and other techniques
Develop an understanding of formulation robustness to chemical and physical changes through use of accelerated stability testing and various analytical characterization techniques
Maintain lab notebook detailing experimental design, execution and outcomes
Document findings in memos and reports
Maintain laboratory equipment
Provide record checking for lab colleagues
BS degree with 3-7 years of experience in Chemistry. Other physical or biological science disciplines will be considered.
Must demonstrate solid knowledge of the application of common analytical and laboratory techniques. A working understanding of experimental design and the basics of statistical evaluation is expected.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel.
Highly desired: Laboratory experience using HPLC for analysis and physical methods for characterization of materials
