GENERAL SUMMARY

Works under the supervision of the Study Coordinator(s), Project Manager, and/or Principal Investigator on assigned studies. Carries out research objectives by performing a variety of tasks which include but is not limited to direct contact with potential and enrolled study participants, study enrollment and engagement events, data collection which includes support and completion of patient appointments, and other tasks as assigned. Field work and administrative work will both be utilized in this role. Strong customer service skills and critical thinking skills required.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works in multiple settings including dedicated enrollment clinics, physician practices, hospital settings (outpatient/inpatient) and in community partner settings in a designated catchment area.

  • Interacts with potential participants along the continuum of study enrollment - including engagement (explaining study basics to a potential participant and answering questions), recruitment (scheduling and supporting completion of informed consent and participant surveys), perform physical measurements including height, weight, blood pressure, etc. based on study protocol and internal standard operating procedure, collects and processes blood, urine, and other biological and/or environmental samples and documenting all activities.

  • Assigned to a location area based on the projects enrollment priorities. Implements established protocol standards to assure all activities are performed per the study protocol.

  • Routinely collects project metrics to support enrollment and inform project priorities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Research experience and research/recruitment experience and/or customer service experience preferred.

  • Some clinical skills are preferred; experience in research setting preferred.

  • Flexibility, team player with excellent communication and organizational skills, results-oriented and promotes teamwork and enthusiasm to meet program goals and enrollment metrics.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
