Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years prior experience in an administrative position, preferably in an academic or research environment with demonstrated financial competency in budget management and projections. Individual must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment.
Strong reading, writing, computing, and interpersonal communication skills are required. The person must have expertise with Microsoft Office and have ability to learn RIT systems quickly.

Job Summary
The Department of Chemical Engineering at RIT is seeking applicants for a Research Program Administrator (RPA) position to support faculty, staff, and student research activities in the Department. The RPA will provide leadership and administration of department research activities for sponsored awards with principal investigator(s), research staff, students, facilities, and support to the Chemical Engineering Office Manager and Lab Manager.
The range of job duties include proposal coordination, award administration functions, financial forecasting for sponsored research, and supporting department events that require faculty and staff involvement. The RPA will collaborate with sponsored research services and sponsored programs accounting on pre/post award sponsored research activities. The RPA will work collaboratively with other administrative areas within the Kate Gleason College of Engineering (KGCOE) and ensuring compliance with sponsor terms/federal regulations and University policies/procedures.
Please note: This position is 20 hours per week.
