About the Job

This part-time position for a PhD or DNP prepared registered nurse will require coordination of research activities and overall management of the grant for R01 MD016388-01, Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Help Seeking of American Indian and Black Women Experiencing Intimate Partner Violence. Lucy Mkandawire Valhmu (Principal Investigator [PI]). Activities for this role includes scheduling team meetings and managing team communication, developing and managing data collection protocols, supervising data collection, including recruitment of participants, summarizing initial results for researchers, contributing to funding applications for continuation of the research.The position is for no more than 20 hours a week of work.

Responsibility Group #1 (65%)

  • Develop protocols for research activities including data collection, analysis, and coordination of all team meetings.

  • Contact the Sojourner Family Peace Center and other domestic violence shelters and schedule times for team members to administer surveys and conduct interviews for the Sisters by Choice (SBC) grant to eligible participants.

  • Assist with any additional hires needed on the team including student hires.

  • Determine participant eligibility and administer surveys to those who are eligible.

  • Provide gift card to participant after the survey is completed.

  • Enter demographic data for each participant surveyed into the quantitative participant data document located on the SBC Teams site. Coordinate secure storage of surveys and assist with data entry into the research database - RedCap.

  • Oversee and support data collection and data analysis.

  • Summarize and present initial data summary to researchers.

  • Assist with the development of funding applications building on this work and coordinate all activities to facilitate funding application submissions.

  • Coordinate activities related to manuscript writing including coordination of various teams engaged in writing of different manuscripts

Responsibility Group #2 (35%)

  • Perform outreach to potential sites, especially in rural areas to enhance recruitment efforts foreligible participants for the SBC grant.

  • Provide support to other researchers on the SBC team as needed for surveys and/or interviews,and manuscript preparation including data analysis.

  • Attend SBC team meetings.

  • Assist PI with other duties as appropriate.

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS with 4 years of experience or advanced degree with 2 years of experience.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience working on a R01 grant.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in nursing or DNP prepared registered nurse with experience administering surveys to women who are survivors of domestic violence. The qualified

individual should also have experience contacting potential sites for recruitment of participants for the grant. The individual should also have experience working

with survivors of domestic violence.
