The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota invites applicants for a full-time Research Professional 1 to provide division support and leadership over research data analysis within the division.
This position will support the Division Director of Nephrology and Hypertension, in his research related to Vasculitis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Glomerular diseases, and Polycystic Kidney diseases. This role will have the opportunity to gain experience in building and maintaining registries, and supporting the conduct of and database analysis of risk factors and outcomes research in kidney diseases.
Job Duties:
Research - 100%
Research work will be based on completing, curating patient registries with chart review, data extraction, and limited data analysis.
Keep detailed records of all experiments and procedures in laboratory notebooks, databases, spreadsheets, and web-based applications.
Conduct background literature research on relevant topics including current methods, reagents, and ethics.
Prepares required research administrative tasks, including data entry, study tracking, and preparation of materials.
Supports and monitors expenditures
Participates in meetings related to research and division
Contribute to development and management of grants, manuscripts, and other documents as needed
Other duties as assigned
Role Location:
This position is a hybrid role, requiring the person in this role to be on campus at the University of Minnesota, east bank campus at least three days per week.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications (Must be documented in all application materials):
BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years.
Experience with clinical research methodologies, principles of good clinical practice, and data collection.
Applies knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with emphasis typically on precision and timeliness of execution.
Able to interact professionally with all faculty, students and staff who utilize the facility.
Computer skills include word-processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation, preferably with Microsoft Office Software.
Excellent organizational skills, communication, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using application Tableau, Qualtrics, and other data management software
Experience with basic molecular biology methods post-baccalaureate education
