The anticipated hiring range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 per year. Hiring offers will be determined based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience. POSITION SUMMARY

The Research Librarian works with students from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and academic backgrounds and is committed to excellence in public service in developing information literacy curriculum and for providing assessment of student learning outcomes.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides reference support to students, staff, faculty, and the public in person and via email, chat, videoconferencing, and phone.

  • Designs and leads Information Literacy sessions, course-embedded instruction and workshops.

  • Supervises the Library Help Desk, serving both reference and circulation.

  • Promotes the development of information literacy skills in interactions with library users.

  • Creates, develops, and maintains instructional materials, including web-based resource guides using LibGuides and online modules.

  • Provides outreach to faculty and administration, with specific responsibilities for the Liberal Arts, General Education, and Food Business Programs.

  • Provides outreach to students to increase engagement.

  • Develops student programs and events.

  • Develops assessment of student learning outcomes regarding information literacy.

  • Participates in book selection.

  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Master's degree in library science degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college.

Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in library administration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years of experience in postsecondary library administration.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong computer experience, which must include abilities to work effectively MS Office suite products, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with social media. Proficiency in the knowledge and use of various innovative interfaces.

  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills required. Must have demonstrated ability in organizational, time management, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills.

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, dependable and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to show a high level of service responsiveness to customers.

  • Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work overtime on nights and weekends as required by business needs.

  • Regular work requires a great deal of sitting and standing for extended periods.

  • Regular work requires the use of a computer, sometimes in excess of eight (8) hours per day.
