About Accenture Operations Research & Development Program

Our research and development program focuses on creating business value for our clients by embedding artificial intelligence in our cross-industry offerings like Finance & Accounting, Procurement, Marketing, Supply Chain, Talent HR and industry-specific offerings like Health, Network, Utilities, and Credit Services.

The research and development group operates in a global collaborative model across Bangalore (India), San Jose (USA) and Dublin (Ireland) along with strategic internal partnership with Accenture Technology (including Technology Labs), Accenture Digital (including advanced analytics) and key research alliances with universities like MIT and Duke.

As part of Accenture's Open Innovation Initiative, the firm has recently awarded 11 research grants to top universities around the world to significantly broaden and deepen the relationships between Accenture's technology research and development (R&D) groups and leading university researchers. The grant program helps to support the ground-breaking efforts of leading university research teams, which will be invited to work in collaboration with researchers from the Accenture Technology Labs on R&D projects that are of strategic importance to the technology industry and Accenture's enterprise clients.

As we create new services embedded in our offerings by leveraging machine learning, machine reasoning, natural language processing, predictive and advanced structured and unstructured data analytics, our research and development group undertakes strategic projects that will disrupt and shape the future of offerings and build prototypes that demonstrate how advances in technology will change the way we do business in the next 2 to 5 years.

About the role

They are expected to manage the entire life cycle of a research project collaborating with business experts for business understanding, supporting business value potential identification, leading research and platform engineers for solutions and working with technology teams for prototyping and client pilot implementations. They provide leadership and guidance of the R&D team in terms of contributing to Accenture's internal and external publications along with publications in leading journals and participation in relevant conferences.
