What Benefits can you Look Forward to?
Responsibilities*
Oversee animal husbandry for colonies in the lab.
Maintain mouse colonies, lab inventories, optimization of lab protocols and service contracts, and oversee lab inspections.
Perform basic molecular biology and biochemistry experiments.
Handle human and mouse blood and assist existing staff in analyses being run in the lab including flow cytometry, aggregometry, microscopy, and western blot analysis (specific techniques will be taught).
Mouse breeding, genotyping and handling of transgenic and knock-out mouse lines.
Collect and enter data into a mouse-breeding/mouse-genotype database.
Required Qualifications*
B.S. degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or Chemistry.
Willing to learn animal husbandry and genotyping.
Willing to handle and process blood cells including platelets from human and animal.
Ability to work in a team project environment.
Excellent oral and written communication and organization skills.
In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.
Desired Qualifications*
2 years of related research experience.
Experience performing molecular biology experiments, making buffers, and western blot experiments.
Experience with Prism.
