Life University is looking for a dynamic and compassionate individual to serve as the Research Lab Coordinator. The Research Lab Coordinator supports the mission of Life University and the specific functions of the Dr. Sid E. Williams Center for Chiropractic Research (CCR). The CCR is responsible for the advancement of the mission-driven research agenda and enterprise at Life University. The Research Lab Coordinator provides administrative support and technical assistance to the staff and faculty operating within the CCR and works to promote, facilitate, and advance the chiropractic research initiatives of the CCR.
Responsibilities
Performs a variety of complex procedures involved in the collection of data for research purposes
Oversees and coordinates scheduling, including clinical trials, special events, trainings, and other department needs
Assists with protocol design, protocol documentation, and creation of supporting documents
Assists with screening potential study participants for inclusion in clinical trials, including facilitating communications with participants
Plans, schedules, and executes research procedures, including informed consent procedures
Collects, extracts, and organizes research data for management
Organizes and maintains department files both electronic and hard copy
Analyzes study data and prepares reports, charts, and graphs
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
Maintains supply inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt of supplies
Handles IT/Facilities/Grounds Requests
Trains faculty, staff, and students on the use of advanced research equipment, research methodologies, and research procedures
Assists with external collaborator communication
Conducts background research and reviews literature for research projects and grant proposals
Assist as needed with data and budgetary information required for the granting process
Additional administrative assistant responsibilities such as meeting coordination, meeting minutes and purchase requisitions
Support overall CCR leadership and assist as needed on internal audits related to clinical trial compliance and data integrity
Employs initiative to advance and refine study processes and laboratory performance
Support internal and external recruitment initiatives through participation in in-person recruitment events and digital media outreach
Assists with the creation of recruitment and promotional materials
Maintains required certifications and trainings
Remain current on best practices associated with existing and new research lab equipment
Demonstrates a willingness to increase personal knowledge related to existing and new research lab equipment
Investigates and proposes alternative experimental procedures
Uses independent judgment in applying or adapting scientific techniques
Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or requested

Requirements
Associate's degree in a scientific field and four years of research experience OR Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and two years of research experience
Exceptional organization and attention to detail
Exceptional ability to work with study participants while maintaining integrity of research implementation
Exceptional interpersonal, mentorship, and training skills
Exceptional writing skills and experience
Strong meeting facilitation and presentation skills
Strong technical aptitude for learning new equipment, gaining appropriate understanding to allow for problem solving as need arises
Ability to work with and maintain confidential employee and research participant information
Experience in development and implementation of policies and procedures
Flexibility and ability to prioritize and manage multiple, complex projects, adhering to strict timelines
Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications
At least 1 year of experience in human subjects research
