SUMMARY OF PURPOSE:
Kasasa's Research intern has solid quantitative background coupled with robust data programming skills. This role requires an individual with excellent statistical and analytical capabilities. The successful candidate will be passionate about learning the intricacies of a complex business that benefits consumers and community financial institutions, and leveraging data, technology and analytics to drive business strategy for Kasasa and our 700+ community bank and credit union clients around the US. This is a three month assignment slated to start in September 2019.
Work across disparate, sometimes disconnected data sources.
Apply statistical and data visualization techniques to complex datasets to create and test predictive models of consumer behavior, client (bank and credit union) profitability, and market factors
Proactively solve problems and identify trends and opportunities for a wide range of internal stakeholders
Respond to ad hoc analytical questions from key partners including the Executive Team
Partner with the Research analyst to help with testing machine learning models
Degree in an analytical field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or Econometrics)
Focus on continuous individual learning within the domain and the industry
Advanced knowledge of statistical techniques (generalized linear models, regularized regression, decision trees/random forests, clustering, etc.)
Desire and drive to learn in a fast-paced environment
Sitting for extended periods of time; approximately 5-6 hours per day
Simultaneous use of hand, wrist and fingers
Daily operation of standard office equipment
Frequent use of oral communication to perform work
Lifts and moves up to 20 pounds occasionally
