Facebook Reality Labs is looking for an intern to help us to invent technologies for interacting with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) devices. Understanding aspects of the human cognitive system, such as memory, attention, and decision making, is central to our ability to design adaptable AR systems. Facebook Reality Labs is looking for researchers with expertise in human cognition to help guide the design of systems and content for interactive user experiences. In this role, you will work with world-leading collaborators and methods in cognitive science and neuroscience fields to develop computational models to improve our understanding of the cognitive system and its interaction with futuristic technologies.
Our internship is sixteen (16) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Collaborate with other researchers to develop a research project and analysis plan that can better define ways in which users might interact with augmented reality systems.
Use quantitative research methods to analyze user research data, including data from biosignals such as EEG, eye-tracking, pupillometry, GSR, etc. and design predictive models.
Currently enrolled in a full-time PhD program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship.
Track record of successful research on human cognition and of successful analysis of EEG or eye-tracking data.
Research skills involving defining problems, exploring solutions, and analyzing and presenting results.
Proficiency in R, Matlab, or Python.
Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
Able to obtain work authorization in the US between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019.
