Northrop Grumman Corporation is seeking a Research Development Manager to support the Office of the Deputy Undersecretary of the Army, Army Analytics Group's Research Facilitation Laboratory located in Monterey, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a portfolio of scientific research efforts, overseeing their execution as well as leading the technical direction on select scientific research projects.

  • The Research Development Manager will have personnel management responsibilities, supervising a matrixed team of data scientists, researchers, and software engineers.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Masters Degree from an accredited college or university and at least 3 years of industry experience

  • Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong project management skills, to include day-to-day management of highly technical experts, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Must have a strong background in a research discipline.

  • Must have excellent communication skills with experience in conveying high-level scientific concepts.

  • Must have personnel management experience.

  • Experience in managing research efforts

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex projects

  • Ability to obtain/maintain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • PhD Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Experience leading a scientific research effort either in the social sciences or data sciences

  • Experience working with military clients or stakeholders

  • Familiarity briefing senior military and civilian leaders

  • Active DoD Clearance
