We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to handle data management and statistical programming responsibilities for investigations involving various study designs, data sharing, institutional and regulatory requirements, and substantive research areas. The ideal candidate must be proficient in both SAS and R, with experience in combining, cleaning, and managing participant-level and geospatial datasets from a wide range of data sources. The Data Scientist will oversee the collection and processing of data for epidemiologic and biomedical research projects of various scales, including the University's largest industry project investigating the health and well-being of the U.S. population. They will be responsible for creating derived variables and performing analyses in support of Biostatistics and other SPH faculty.
Required Skills
Master Degree required with 1-3 years' experience. Candidates for this position must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and team-focused, with an understanding of the importance of compliance and standards. They should be able to develop new and enhance existing procedures to align with best practices.
Advanced coursework in statistical programming, data management, biostatistics, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Must be proficient in the analysis of clinical trials as well as observational studies
Required programming experience: SAS, R
Additional programming experience preferred: Python, ArcGIS, ArcMap, QGIS
