We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, able to work in a collaborative setting, has effective communication skills, and willing to take on new and special assignments related to financial information and data.

Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Senior Engineer, WR, the incumbent provides basic research, data gathering, data creation, mapping, and statistical work supporting projects and programs throughout DWR.

Incumbent will use proven techniques and methods to develop and maintain geospatial data and map product solutions to support the Division of Engineering's (DOE) Enterprise GIS Services Section. The incumbent will be working with subject matter experts (SME) within DOE, Enterprise GIS Section Services, and other SMEs throughout DWR.

Incumbent will perform varied and complex technical research and statistical work involving various types of digital spatial data and the techniques and methodologies associated with geographic information systems.

Special Requirements

Must possess a valid California driver's license when conducting State business that requires driving a vehicle. May be required to travel on public roadways including traveling to remote areas. Travel on short notice and overnight lodging will be required on some trips.

Possess knowledge and skills in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, SharePoint, Tableau, PowerBI), GIS, and other data management programs for use in developing and maintaining geospatial data and map products.

Knowledge of web services and web application development are highly desired. Knowledge of Python or other programming skills are also highly desirable, although not required.
