GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Under supervision, and within established departmental and hospital policies and procedures, is responsible for participating in the design and analysis of clinical research within the Translational Neuroimmunology Research Center (TNRC) in the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases (ARNCD). The data analyst is to help clinical researchers acquire, manipulate, and analyze data as well as report the results.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet with clinical investigators to identify research questions and testable hypotheses.
Write SQL queries to obtain data from an Oracle relational database.
Assist in database maintenance by creating new tables and views as needed.
Assess data quality and perform data cleaning as needed.
Create variables required for analyses using existing data fields.
Perform group comparisons using t-tests, chi-squared tests, and log-rank tests.
Estimate group differences adjusting for other variables using linear regression, logistic regression and Cox proportional hazards regression.
Program in at least one statistical software package (SAS, Stata or R).
Create reports and graphs of results for clinical investigators.
Proficiency with SAS, Stata or R.
Experience with REDCap.
Experience with writing queries in SQL.
Master's in epidemiology, biostatistics or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Access.
Bachelor's or master's degree, preferable in Information Management, Healthcare Information, Computing, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields.
Proficiency with statistics/biostatistics.
Office space environment and occasional clinical center exposure.
