Job Description:
The LSU Institute for Energy Innovation (IEI) is transforming the way we generate, store, and use energy in Louisiana and around the globe with groundbreaking research that advances the frontiers of knowledge and translates into practical solutions and policy recommendations that foster economic growth and environmentally responsible energy for all. The core mission of the Institute is to bring together scientists, engineers, social scientists, financial experts and public policy experts with industry, government, and communities in Louisiana to work on research, development and demonstration projects and policy recommendations to secure the state's energy future in alignment with LSU's Scholarship First agenda. The Research Coordinator will coordinate and assist with research administration, post-award financial reporting, community engagement to progress the research mission of the institute.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinates day to day operations to support the administration of research programs; Coordinates meetings, including some scheduling, agenda preparation and minute-taking to ensure proper documentation and alignment with requirements for research funds and programs. (50%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and relevant experience. A valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree and 2 or more years relevant experience; Certified Research Administrator credential; Experience with university procurement, contracting, and Human Resource Management (HRM) systems & requirements; Experience with Workday; High proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; Proficiency with any combination of the following: creative software tools, databases, Microsoft Office applications
Additional Information:
Travel as needed: likely one to four trips overnight annually for various meetings or events. Work non-traditional hours some weeks to meet reporting deadlines, support public outreach events, and attend meetings.
Must be able to sit, stand, and work on a computer for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
