The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is looking for a full-time Research Coordinator to join a new research project. As a Research Coordinator onsite at one of our primary care clinics, the role will be to help with several study tasks related to adolescent substance use prevention and brief intervention activities. The Research Coordinator will report to the site director and work closely with the Family and Adolescent Clinical Technology & Science (FACTS) team at Partnership to End Addiction. This position is funded by PCORI (Patient-Centered Outcome Research Institute) through September 2028. Duration of employment is limited to the duration of the grant. Those with a background in social science research and/or an interest in applying to graduate school in medical or behavioral sciences are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, consent adolescents, and caregivers in a pediatric primary care (PC) clinic.

  • Coordinate research activities with families, pediatricians and other project staff.

  • Communicate with study families and provide technical support, as needed.

  • Track participant follow-up assessments and track online study data.

  • Attend research training and consultation meetings.

  • Participate in multi-site/multi-team meetings both virtually and in person.

  • Coordinate collection of research data submitted by study families and pediatricians on hand-held tablets.

  • Assist with cleaning and coordinating study data for study analysis.

  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus, three years of related experience.
