Internal Job Description:
We are currently looking for a Research Consultant who will be responsible for providing technical support in the areas: Special Trade Programs (NAFTA, ROO), classifications, research, case preparation, and project completion. This position requires previous industry experience.
Responsible for performing complex data analysis and interpretation of information received from clients/consultants.
Monitoring and manages the level of service being provided to ensure that we are able to meet our customer's expectations and needs.
Responsible for validating country specific import/export documentation. Utilize strong classification (Global HS, Global ECCN, and Schedule B) experience on projects.
Prioritizes and completes work according to project demands, customs requirements, and Livingston standards.
Responsible for the management of small projects or portions thereof, i.e. Classification, Valuation, CF28/CF29, FTA, ADD/CVD, etc. and act as the lead in the absence of a project manager.
Participates fully with other team members in the day today operation of the team, including setting priorities, organizing and schedule work, coordinating with others, problem solving and decision making, participating in meetings and handling projects. Responsible for managing client issues by developing action plans and monitoring progress. Assist when necessary to help the team meet its performance objectives.
Maintains an excellent working relationship with clients. In a support role to the Project Manager, may visit client sites periodically to ensure Client's needs are being met.
Provides technical expertise in customs regulations. Review and analyzes changes in regulation/trade initiatives and identifies impact to client base and project. With the Project Manager, coordinates the set-up of new clients.
Ensures that databases are created correctly and optimizes regulation in the client's best interests.
High School Diploma and five plus years Custom Industry experience.
Excellent knowledge of Global Harmonized System of Classification, Global ECCN, Schedule B, Free Trade Agreements, and Customs Regulations.
Experience with CF28/CF29, PGA, ADD/CVD, SPI indicators, and Custom entries. Experience within the customs brokerage industry.
Strong analytical and attention to detail skills with a high level of accuracy. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Strong customer service orientation. Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel and Access.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, handle large volumes of work, and meet tight deadlines.
