UCR's Office of Research Integrity (ORI) promotes the highest standards of research excellence and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations. This position is responsible for providing support and leadership to various research compliance areas covered by the ORI.

The Research Compliance Analyst will be responsible for providing support and leadership to the Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) as well as providing back up support, as needed, to the other compliance committees such as the Stem Cell Research Oversight (SCRO). The Research Compliance Analyst will serve as a resource to faculty and will ensure that federal and state laws, as well as UC policy, are applied correctly. The Research Compliance Analyst will work closely with faculty to facilitate the ethical conduct of research.

This position also interacts with a variety of campus and system-wide offices to facilitate the management, administration and conduct of research.

This position is posted here as a Research Compliance Analyst 3 (job #32758381) and a Research Compliance Analyst 4 (job #32790375). If you wish to be considered in multiple pools or are unsure, please apply for all positions. The full salary range for the Research Compliance Analyst 4 is $78,700 - $145,100 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $111,900 annually.

We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Applies advanced research compliance concepts to interpret and apply a wide variety of highly complex policies, regulations and guidelines governing research compliance, and/or disclosures.Advises faculty on research compliance, funding and other highly complex issues for research projects.Communicates with researchers and provides guidance on how to resolve particularly complex issues and meet requirements of external regulatory bodies. Ensures that all actions are properly documented in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.Determines appropriate level of review.Provides in-depth review of assigned grant awards and MTA's to ensure compliance, and assists investigators when protocol modifications are needed to address grant and MTA issues.May lead a team of research compliance professionals.Initiates and designs the development and revision of operating procedures, policies, and guidelines.Helps develop materials and conducts training for departments on relevant compliance issues, processes, forms, and policies. Provides education and training through the development and delivery of face-to-face training, online educational materials, printed materials, and other web-based resources.Classifies and analyzes disclosures related to highly complex conflict of interest issues.Independently reviews and analyzes export control activities.

Demonstrated self-discipline and independent judgment completing highly complex, broadly defined assignments.Advanced knowledge and ability to apply all relevant Federal, state, and university regulations policies, and federal guidance documents.Advanced knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research design; scientific research concepts and terminology.Strong proficiency in public speaking, and writing.Ability to work in high-volume, high-pressure and fast-paced environment to manage and prioritize a large task list with deadlines, frequent interruptions and completing priorities.Superb time management, organizational and customer service skills.Detailed knowledge of substantial body of regulatory information regarding the protection of rights and welfare of human research participants (DHHS, OHRP, FDA, HIPPA).Ability to exercise good judgement in assessing risk level and contacting appropriate delegate during the review of research.Thorough knowledge of compliance research regulations and guidance.
