Responsible for most basic research project tasks such as recruiting participants for studies, coordinating office and laboratory appointments, collecting data, and completing study forms. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.

Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent
1.Recruits and screens potential research participants. Communicates information and instructions regarding studies to research subjects. (30-50%)
2.Coordinates office and laboratory visits. Serves as receptionist and assists study physician as needed. Collects blood and urine specimens and prepares specimens for shipping. (20-40%)
3.Collects data as instructed. Completes case report forms. Assists in development of forms and procedures. Assists investigator as directed. (20-40%)
4.Performs other work duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required Phlebotomy skills preferred, but will train BLS required within 3 months of hire One year experience in conducting human research studies preferred

Working Conditions

Employee is required to sit frequently and stand and walk occasionally.

Employee must lift/carry loads occasionally.

Employee is required to bend, squat, walk and lift floor to waist occasionally; reach forward and overhead frequently and to sit continuously. For repetitive action, employee is required to use one hand for simple grasping, pushing/pulling and both hands for fine manipulation. Employee is exposed to CRT terminal work frequently.

Employee may be exposed to blood borne pathogens. (Occasionally: 1-33%, Frequently: 34-66%, Continuously: 67-100%) The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties. VIEW JOBS 1/17/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-16T00:00 Description Under the supervision of the Director of Therapy Services and Inpatient Supervisor; Follows patient treatment protocol established at initial evaluation by registered occupational therapist, administers therapy and performs documentation. Assists in preparing patients and equipment. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values. Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent 1. Provides patient care including the following: Prepares patients and equipment; assists Occupational Therapist in implementation of treatment program for each patient. Instructs the patient in exercise routines, home programs, use of adaptive equipment, and self-care activities. Instructs patients' families in these areas as necessary. Makes use of modalities available in the department. Promotes safe environment for patients and staff in the hospital. Provides liaison with nursing divisions and medical staff in regard to patient care and OT patients. (60%) 2. Records and reports patient progress and discharge notes in a timely manner. Attends scheduled patient meetings with team. (15%) 3. Assumes delegated supervisory responsibility for Occupational Therapy Assistant students. (5%) 4. Reports to Inpatient Supervisor for program development, form revisions and Quality Assurance as indicated. (10%) 5. Represents the department when indicated at professional and related conferences and meetings. (5%) 6. Performs other duties as assigned (5%) Total 100% Education Employee must hold an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution and pass certification course. Experience Must be certified in CPR. The assessment, care and treatment provided by the occupational therapy assistant will be consistent with the specific age related needs of the patient. The occupational therapy assistant is competent to care for patient age groups including the child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric adult patient. Working Conditions Employee is required to sit, stand, and walk continuously. Employee must lift/carry a light (1-20 lb.) and medium (21-50 lb.) continuously and heavy (50 lb. +) load frequently. Employee may be required to lift over 100 lb. with assistance. Employee is required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, lift waist to overhead continuously. Employee is required to reach forward and reach overhead frequently. For repetitive action, employee is required to use both hands for simple grasping and pushing/pulling. Employee is occasionally exposed to electrical hazards and temperature changes. Pt is frequently exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
