Job Summary
The Principal Investigator is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented graduate student to join a research team focused on analyzing micromobility safety data at the local, state, and national levels. The ideal candidate will have expertise in natural language processing, statistics, modeling, GIS, and advanced clustering analysis. The successful applicant will work on extracting insights from diverse data sources, including crash analysis, public health data, and trauma data, to inform policy and improve safety measures for micromobility users.
Responsibilities*
Conduct comprehensive analyses of micromobility safety data, including crash analysis, public health data, and trauma data
Utilize natural language processing to interpret and classify textual data
Apply statistical methods and modeling techniques to identify trends and patterns
Perform advanced clustering analysis to segment data and uncover hidden relationships
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate findings into actionable recommendations
Required Qualifications*
Must be a student currently enrolled in a graduate program
Must be well-versed in natural language models, machine learning, and quantitative analysis
Desired Qualifications*
Strong work ethic
Able to meet deadlines
Capacity to devote at least 6-8 hours per week on the project
Strong writing skills
Knowledge of research methods and grant writing.
Work Schedule
This position begins immediately and continues through the Fall 2024 semester.
