Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Formulation Discovery

The Position

We are seeking a motivated Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to join our Formulation Discovery team. The successful candidate will have a background in the preparation and characterization of nanoparticle-based delivery systems for nucleic acid therapeutics. In addition, the candidate will have to work in a multidisciplinary fast-paced team environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and preparation of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for early-stage evaluation of delivery of nucleic acid payloads in cell-based and preclinical animal models.

• Characterization of LNPs through HPLC, spectroscopic techniques such as UV-Vis and fluorescence, ribogreen assays and pKA.

• After successful screening and identification of lead LNP formulations, the candidate will have the opportunity to further streamline and advance the formulation towards clinical development.

• Design, preparation, and characterization of lipid nanoparticles for screening efficient delivery of nucleic acid payloads in preclinical animal models.

• Prepare technical reports and presentations pertaining to formulation development.

• Generate/write protocols, and SOPs.

• Cross-functional collaboration.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Research Associate

• S. degree in chemical engineering, bioengineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or another related field.

• Senior Research Associate

• S. degree in chemical engineering, bioengineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or another related field.

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience

• Experience with nanomedicinal formulations preferred.

• Strong problem-solving skills, and creative/innovative approach in problem solving.

• Ability to work independently and in very dynamic interdisciplinary team environments.

• Proven records in working with partners/collaborators is desirable.

• Organized, detail-oriented, and innovative self-starter who continuously seeks to improve existing laboratory methods and processes.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in literature search and relevant computer software skills are required.
