RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/ SR. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, ANALYTICAL DEVELOPMENT & QUALITY CONTROL

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality Control testing of in-process samples, drug substances, and drug products in a GMP environment.

  • Compile and review data for compliance to specifications and test procedures.

  • Conduct of analytical investigations and the validation of analytical methods.

  • Analytical testing of preclinical drug products in accordance with GLP guidelines.

  • Revise and update standard operating procedures as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. degree in chemistry or a related field.

  • 4+ years' experience in Quality Control testing and proficient with GMPs.

  • Enjoy working in the laboratory.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and possess an excellent work ethic.

  • Excellent problem solving, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in HPLC, GC and other analytical techniques.

  • Working knowledge of mass spectrometry is desirable.

Skills – Technical * Demonstrates use of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in a particular field of specialization; continues development of technical expertise through experience and application. * Demonstrates competency in evaluation of new techniques and procedures, products, and technologies. * Thorough knowledge of experimental design is required. * General understanding of instrumentation in the life sciences laboratory. Skills – General * Must be a hands-on, self-directed, organized and conscientious individual * Complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner * Must be able to think and work both tactically and strategically to provide operational needs to GenMark's business Work Environment The essential functions of the job are usually performed in an environmentally controlled facility where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position may involve a combination of office and biotechnology laboratory environments. The employee may be exposed to hazardous chemicals, blood borne pathogens and automated equipment. While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee may sometimes be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
