Research Associate sought by University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
Duties: Conduct research studies involving human subjects and clinical trials throughout all stages of the current projects in the lab including longitudinal collection of subject data, analysis (including statistical analysis) of data collected in questionnaires, as well as physiologic gait and other motor data.
Analyze and interpret collected data using specialized software for each of the collection methods utilized. Prepare and administer research experiments using a variety of methods including but not limited to: patient questionnaires, cognitive screening tests, motor function, gait, balance and coordination measures. Assist with the administration, oversight and regulation of ongoing clinical trials.
Prepare and revise manuscripts and grant proposals from analyzed data, creating and revising text and figures. Assist with clinical trials including managing complex patient schedules, performing key research protocols and analyzing research data.
Adhere to regulatory oversight and coordinate with other regulatory bodies at UAMS and external bodies (such as pharma or FDA). Maintain laboratory property and maintain research data information storage security, protecting classified data and materials and assist in backup of data generated by the lab.
Train and provide guidance to junior lab personnel. Train classified research staff and participate in the instruction of residents and medical students. Assist in the training of graduate students who rotate through the laboratory as needed.
Master's degree or equivalent in Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, or related field plus three (3) years of research associate/assistant or related experience assisting in clinical trials or biological research projects; handling large-scale datasets; utilizing database software to facilitate data storage (MS Access); using specialized software to perform bioinformatics data analysis; and preparing and revising grant proposals and manuscript publications.
