To meet the expanding needs of our company, Seagen is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate with exceptional scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and self-motivation to join the Cancer Biology Group. Thus, the candidate should possess a strong molecular/cell biology, immunology, or bioengineering background with excellent interpersonal skills, clear communication, accountability, and self-motivation. The position title and compensation package are flexible and will be determined based on the qualifications and experience level of the candidate.
Perform tissue culture using sterile techniques to develop new in vitro models and transfer these models to high throughput methods
The successful candidate will contribute to the design of mechanistic studies to better understand novel molecules
Perform rigorous biochemical and genomic characterization of novel targets in the context of the tumor microenvironment
The position requires flexibility to learn diverse techniques and approaches for thorough ADC characterization
Compile and analyze data, keep accurate records of experiments and results
Provide updates and present data in team and group meetings
BS or MS with 2+ years of research experience in academic/biotech/pharmaceutical industry
Experience with mammalian cell culture is required
Comfort with assay development/optimization, experimental design, and setting up appropriate controls for hypothesis testing
Familiarity with cell culture models (3D, co-culture, etc.), matrix biology, phenotypic assays, and/or signal transduction
Experience with flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, mass spec, lentiviral transduction, and/or gene editing technologies is preferred
Ability to work both in a team-based environment and independently with outstanding problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with automation, high throughput screening, and basic bioinformatics is a plus
