The Microvascular Physiology Lab in the Department of Health and Human Physiology has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Associate/Lab Manager. Under the direction of Anna Stanhewicz, PhD, the Microvascular Physiology Lab conducts research to understand the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular and metabolic disease risk in human research participants. The lab is currently focused on understanding how pregnancy outcomes such as preeclampsia and gestational diabetes influence long-term disease risk in women.
This is a three-year, specified-term position with the possibility of extension based on funding and lab needs.
Key Responsibilities
Performing research procedures in human subjects.
Coordinating research subject participation.
Assisting in preparing regulatory documents and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Assisting with maintenance and purchasing of laboratory equipment and supplies.
Participating in research and organizational tasks.
Assisting in training and supervising new lab members.

Education Required
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with word processing and spreadsheet applications and the ability to learn new technical skills quickly.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and experience keeping records with accuracy.
Minimum of 1 year of clinical or laboratory research experience in the areas of biology, chemistry, medicine, pharmacology, physiology, or related field.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated experience working with human research participants, patients, clients, or customers in a professional role.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe, healthy, and functional working environment in the lab.
Demonstrated skill in phlebotomy and/or phlebotomy certification, licensure, or training.
Experience working with electronic medical records such as Epic.
