Summary

Position Highlights:

  • A Research Associate II position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Shari Pilon-Thomas in the Immunology Department at Moffitt Cancer Center.

  • We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and team-oriented individual interested in translational immunotherapy. The lab focuses on understanding the function of T-cells within the tumor microenvironment of solid tumors. Strategies to leverage anti-tumor T-cell function are of particular interest for translational potential as we seek to optimize adoptive cell therapy for patients with advanced disease.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic immunology techniques, including flow cytometry, T cell culture, and ELISA, ELLA, and/or ELISPOT.

  • Is experienced in culturing mammalian cell lines and primary mammalian cells.

  • Has experience processing human samples (i.e. blood and tumor tissue).

  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments and manage time efficiently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities:

  • The employee will assist the PI and other lab members by performing research and experimentation following established protocols.

  • The employee will also be required to maintain detailed records, follow established protocols, and perform basic data analysis for presentation.

  • Takes inventory and helps with ordering stock laboratory supplies under appropriate supervision.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required

  • Hands-on research experience.
