Research Associate II, Lead Discovery

Our Ideal Candidate:

You are a highly motivated and results driven biologist with a background in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays. You have a strong interest in expanding your skillset in HTS for drug discovery and thrive in a fast paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in our cell-based screening platform with primary responsibilities in performing mammalian cell culture.

• Perform high-throughput profiling assays to support small molecule drug discovery projects

• Optimize and miniaturize assays to enable HTS

• Evaluate data, prepare protocols and record results in a timely manner

• Maintain ELN with detailed records of work performed

Required qualifications:

• BS in Biology or related field with 2+ years of relevant lab experience, or MS in Biology or a related field

• Strong background in mammalian cell culture

• Experience in performing cell-based assays

• Highly organized, capable of culturing multiple lines and keeping track of banked cell inventory

• Ability to perform data analysis using Microsoft Excel, Prism, or other analytical software

• Critical thinker with strong oral and written communication skills and experience communicating data

• A self-motivated and flexible team player who is enthusiastic about advancing new medicines and delivering impactful drugs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with standard lab automation equipment including dispensers and acoustic liquid handlers

• Experience with assay miniaturization for high throughput screening

• Experience troubleshooting cell-based assay design and development

• Experience with molecular biology techniques including plasmid design, stable-cell line generation and transient transfection/transduction would be desirable
