Step into an exciting role where you'll have the opportunity to shape processes from inception to execution. As a Research Associate II in DSP (Downstream Processing), you'll dive into the intricate world of impurity fate, product stability, and degradation mechanisms. Your main task will involve identifying unit operations and key parameters, crafting processes that not only meet targets but also optimize costs. From managing unit operations to collecting crucial data, you'll be instrumental in developing scalable processes for purifying bio-derived Starting Materials and APIs, spanning from bench to Pilot scale.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as sample preparation, Liquid-Solid separation, and Liquid-Liquid separation is essential. Collaboration will be key as you work closely with teams across Biology, Analytics, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory departments to ensure processes are sustainable and products meet specifications within established timelines.

Primary Responsibilities
Comply with safety protocols and ensure the safety of co-workers
Comply with Regulatory and DEA requirements when required for handling, disposal and documentation
Support project teams to deliver on project goals
Perform studies following experimental protocols
Run regular unit operations and data collection for analysis
Preparation of samples for Analytical methods
Maintain equipment
Work cross functionally and provide documentation for transparency and reports
Perform other duties as assigned*
Qualifications
B.S. in Chemistry, or applicable area of study, and 2+ years industry experience, to include experience with small molecules
Analytical and compound isolation laboratory experience
Hands on experience with bench scale filtration, evaporation and crystallization
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Experience writing reports
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Flexibility in work hours based on project needs
Nice to haves (but not required):
Demonstrated experience with scale up - bench to pilot scale
Experience working as a Process Chemist in an industrial setting
GMP experience
Experience with HPLC/UPLC a plus
Additional Information:
Full-time base salary range of $80,000 - $95,000 plus an annual bonus potential and equity opportunities.
Title and compensation will be based on level of experience with requested qualifications.
