Summary of Position
The Research Associate II/Associate Scientist I will be part of the Targeted Therapeutics Group focused on generating novel antibody-based therapies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases. The encumbent will be responsible for designing and executing experiments to produce and characterize novel antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) to treat a variety of cancers. This role will work collaboratively with a group of experienced scientists to advance preclinical programs and will gradually take on new challenges and responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Job Duties
Perform and optimize bioconjugation reactions. Purify, and characterize ADCs using FPLC, HPLC, and mass spectrometry (MS).
Develop, conduct, and troubleshoot in vitro experiments to assess the function of our ADCs and dissect the mechanism of action of these novel cancer therapeutics. Tasks will include cell culture, cytotoxicity assay, ELISA and cell binding assays, flow cytometry, western blots, RNA isolation, and in vitro cellular functional assays.
Support mass spectrometry (MS)-based analysis of ADC catabolism in cells, plasma and tumors.
Analyze and interpret experimental results and present research updates at project team meetings, group meetings and to senior management when required.
Prepare write-ups for protocols, research reports, maintains lab notebook that meet company standards, assist in patent applications and manuscript preparation.

Education & Other Credentials
Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with minimum of two years of related laboratory experience
Master's degree in a scientific discipline with related laboratory experience
Associate Scientist I
Education & Other Credentials
Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with minimum of five years of related laboratory experience
Master's degree in a scientific discipline with minimum of two years of related laboratory experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Direct experience in protein conjugation, protein purification, peptide chemistry, and preferably generation of ADCs. Knowledge of protein analytical methods such as HPLC (HIC, aSEC, ion exchange, reverse phase), LC-MS, SDS-PAGE, UV-vis spectroscopy.
Experience with biochemistry techniques to evaluate drug potency and MOA: may include flow cytometry, ELISA, cell-based cytotoxicity assays, western blots, 2D/3D cell culture, internalization assays etc.
Detail oriented and well organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to positively impact company culture and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary collaborative environment.
Ability to execute experiments, develop assays, optimize protocols, and interpret experimental results
Ability to maintain timely, detailed, and accurate records of lab activities
Strong communication and organization skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to multi-task and think critically to solve problems

Preferred Qualification:
Direct experience in antibody conjugation, purification and characterization using bioanalytical techniques.
