Summary of Job Duties:

The Research Associate is expected to participate in research projects by conducting experiments with input, and minimal supervision, from the Principal Investigator (PI). The research projects will focus on understanding host response to infections. The Research Projects will include basic molecular, virology, and cell biology experiments, injections, dissection, and tissue isolation.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in science or related field plus three (3) years of research and/or research lab experience or

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field plus five (5) years of research and/or research lab experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Good communication skills.

• Capable of scientific reasoning.

• Able to analyze experimental results and present the results to the PI and other laboratory personnel.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Assists the PI with protocol building and submission/approval (e.g., IACUC and IBC).

• Responsible for general lab management.

• Keeps lab inventories and SOPs.

• Places orders and train staff.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
