We are seeking a Research Associate I or II to take on the challenge of meeting all Epibiologics protein production needs from cloning and plasmid construction to DNA prep and transfection, as well as maintain CHO and 293 cell-banks. You will also have the chance to further optimize, refine and improve our protein expression systems and contribute to research projects outside your regular scope of work. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain a background in generating bi- and multi-specific antibodies from small scale transients to industry leading CHO production cell-lines. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a sustained track record of being an impactful and collaborative research associate, who is comfortable in a fast-paced research start-up environment.

About You

You are an enthusiastic protein biochemist who takes pride in your bench execution skills. You are conscientious, detail-oriented, and organized. Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where pushing the boundaries of what is possible is the norm.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or relevant field and 0-3 years of experience

Multiple (ideally 3+) years of professional scientific experience, in the academic or biotechnology company setting.

  • Proficiency in molecular and cell biology techniques, including mammalian tissue cell culture, and basic skills in molecular biology.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, fostering cooperation and knowledge-sharing among team member

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using LIMS and Benchling systems

  • Master of Science degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or relevant field

Job level will be based on prior experience and accomplishment. The expected base salary range for the Research Associate I role is $72,000 - $84,000 and $85,000-$100,000 for a Research Associate II.

The above pay range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation is based on various factors, including experience, education, skillset, and geographic location. This pay range is for the Bay Area, CA, location and may be adjusted to the labor market in other geographic areas.
