CyLab is Carnegie Mellon University's security and privacy research institute. Housed in the 25,000 sq. ft. Collaborative Innovation Center, we bring together experts from all schools across the University, encompassing the fields of engineering, computer science, public policy, information systems, business, humanities, and social sciences.

We are seeking a Research Associate for Professor Antony Rowe's Lab. In this role, you will assist in the development and execution of research projects including experiment design, analysis of data collected and writing up experiment results.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Performing related duties as assigned

  • Attending project meetings

  • Identifying problems and obstacles to progress; developing strategies to solve problems

  • Summarizing statistical information for analysis, examination or presentation; writing technical reports. May build and validate quantitative models

  • Performing research experiments following experimental protocol and procedures. Researching and documenting information by compiling and maintaining accurate and detailed records

  • Using a variety of software packages to input, manipulate, collect and record results or observations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 1-3 years of Data Collection, Analysis, Research Methodology, Research Lab Experience required

We are committed to conducting high quality research with the goal of reducing health disparities in substance use problems. This position will be responsible for recruiting and screening eligible participants, running beverage session protocols and conducting face to face psychiatric interviews. This position is grant funded. Purpose: Assist in the execution of research protocols and services. Responsibilities: * Contact and schedule potential participants from a designated pool of individuals who have agreed to be contacted for research studies. * Conduct subject searches to locate subjects who are unable to be contacted. * Explain research protocol and obtain informed consent from participants. * Conduct on-line and/or library searches as needed by the PI as necessary. * Perform phone interviews for research project protocol(s) as needed. * Maintain and update subject information database. * Conduct interviews with research participants under supervision as needed.
