Job Description:
Work Location: The position will be housed on the LSU AgCenter's Sugar Research Station in St Gabriel, LA.
Position Description: A Research Associate Coordinator position is available to conduct photoperiod and hybridization management of sugarcane parental material. Responsibilities include the watering, weeding, monitoring and control of pest, marcotting, and crossing of sugarcane parental material.
Qualification Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in plant sciences, agronomy, horticulture, and plant pest management from an accredited college or university.
The candidate should be experienced in management of greenhouse facilities and research experience is highly desirable. Good interpersonal skills are required for working effectively with faculty and breeding program associates. Excellent recordkeeping, oral and written communication skills, computer skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues are required.
Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
