Research Assistant

Job Description

The Institute for Society, Culture and Environment is seeking a research assistant for the NIH funding project, Persons with Dementia and their Extended Family Caregivers: Service Use, Barriers and Needs. The primary responsibility of this position is recruiting, screening, and scheduling interviews with study participants, conducting telephone interviews with family caregivers of persons living with dementia; and preparing written summaries of the interviews. The successful candidate will be a part of a team of experts in gerontological research, professional staff, and students.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework or degree.

• Experience working as a team member on multi-faceted, federally-funded research projects.

• Experience conducting telephone interviews with family caregivers of persons living with dementia.

• Proficient in the use of RedCap, Microsoft Office, Electronic Media, and Search Engines.

• Experience preparing research summaries, recruitment materials, and social media postings.

• Experience preparing conference presentations and writing empirical-based manuscripts.

• Demonstrated ability to carry out assigned tasks with limited direct supervision.

• Ability to work periods of eight consecutive evenings, including weekends.

Additional Information

Dependent upon project work, weekly hours can be anywhere between 20-30. Positions are eligible for hybrid work arrangements, and the confirmed work schedule will be confirmed upon hire.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
