The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) is the largest academic unit at Rutgers University and the center of the undergraduate experience on the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus and is comprised of 41 academic departments spanning the liberal arts.

Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Assistant for the Kinesiology & Health Department within the School of Arts & Sciences.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Assists with study-required trials and study visits.

  • Helps with recruitment of eligible subjects and collection of study-required subject assessments (e.g., height, weight).

  • Schedules appropriate appointments, procedures, and tests.

  • Makes assessment decisions with supervisory guidance; and coordinate study visits.

  • Helps with study procedures, supervising exercise training sessions, recording data, and processing specimens for shipments as well as maintaining appropriate current and long-term storage of documents.

  • Assists the PI with conducting full range of clinical trial activities in compliance with good clinical practice (GCP) as well as state, federal and local regulatory requirements.

  • Notifies the PI of subject status, maintenance of study protocols, and convey study information to PI as appropriate.

Position Status Hours Per Week 19.5 Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement

This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.

FLSA Nonexempt Position Salary $25/hour Payroll Designation PeopleSoft Terms of Appointment Temporary Staff Appointment - Hourly

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

Certifications/Licenses Preferred Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.

Immunization Requirements
