The Epidemiology Program in the Public Health Sciences Division of Fred Hutch is seeking a Research Assistant to utilize geospatial science methods to conduct environmental epidemiology research on cancer survival.

Responsibilities
Conduct geospatial and statistical analyses and disseminate study findings through submitting abstracts for presentation at scientific conferences and drafting manuscripts to be submitted to peer-reviewed journals.
Conducting geospatial analyses using ArcGIS software
Conducting statistical analyses using SAS
Conducting literature reviews on scientific topics of relevance
Submitting abstracts for presentation at scientific conferences
Drafting manuscripts to be submitted to peer-reviewed journals
Assisting with development of study materials
Other duties as assigned
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Level of autonomy: Minimal oversight, able to work independently

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and enrollment in an applicable graduate program (e.g., Epidemiology)
Knowledge and/or prior experience in epidemiology and biostatistics
Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with GIS (e.g., Esri ArcGIS)
Highly motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with little direct supervision

The hourly pay range for this position is from $19.97 to $48.08 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked), and prorated paid holidays (up to 11 days per year).
