Position Overview

This position is part-time only, 8-10 hours per week.

The Research Assistant in this part-time position (8-10 hours /week, months 1-6 of study; 2-4 hours/week months 6-12) will work closely with the Principal Investigator, research team, and collaborators on a UNTHSC- funded research pilot project to translate, validate, pre-test, and pilot-test questionnaires to Vietnamese Americans with rheumatic conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

• MPH or equivalent

• Two years prior research experience, especially with Vietnamese American participants

• Prior experience creating/managing/coordinating data entry systems using REDCap for English and Vietnamese

• Bilingual in Vietnamese and English

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to use advanced computer skills using a range of software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and REDCap for bilingual research materials.

• Ability to use Zoom and other online conferencing software

• Data entry

• Experience in community outreach in Vietnamese Americans for research and/or education

• Bilingual in Vietnamese and English

• Ability to work independently

• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks

• Assist with the preparation of recruiting materials

• Assist with the programming and testing of data collection survey software

• Assist with documentation of study materials including measures binders and Manual of Operations

• Assist in preparing materials for presentation for Principal Investigators

• Ability to communicate effectively

• Perform other administrative/clerical tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient confidentiality/HIPPA preferred

• Good communication skills

• Well organized and attention to details

• Be self-motivated, flexible/adaptable, and can work independently

• Able to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines

• Able to document research procedures

• Able to assist in data management and quality control

• Able to work some evenings and/or weekends if needed

• Some work can be done remotely, negotiable
