POSITION SUMMARY:

Duties may include performing data analysis using statistical packages, interpreting and communicating data, maintaining study databases, and performing data quality checks. Further duties include the oversight of data analysis techniques, preparation of reports, and provision of technical expertise. In all research activities, the Research Assistant will ensure the quality and integrity of the data, compliance with approved research protocols, and adherence to local and international data confidentiality procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs data analysis using an approved statistical software, including any necessary cleaning and transposing.

  • Interprets data and communicates the results to the study team. Conducts periodic checks of the data to ensure quality and completeness. Generates reports from existing study databases.

  • Provides technical expertise for other members of the research team, such as generating code, inspecting code, reviewing statistical procedures, and guidance for interpretation.

  • Oversees all aspects of data analysis and interpretation as it relates to the aims of the studies.

OTHER

  • Assists investigators with the preparation of manuscripts and presentations.

  • Provides clerical support, such as preparing study materials, researching information, and record keeping.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree is required. MPH highly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with clinical research and public health are preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Technical expertise in the use of statistical software packages (SAS, R, STATA, etc.).

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all study subjects.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to communicate with persons of different populations and backgrounds.

This position is grant funded. There may be opportunity beyond this grant funding for position integration into ongoing operations.
