Expected Starting Salary Range: 19.73 - 24.05
The Davies Lab, part of the Division of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Immune Deficiency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, works to understand the genetic mechanisms behind childhood cancer and patient response to treatment.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow research protocol. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work and experiments.
Analyze data; perform statistical and graphical analysis of data. Design and execute daily laboratory experiments in coordination with senior laboratory personnel. Reproduces and evaluates techniques and results for accuracy.
Apply standard protocols to specific experiments, research and improve current methods, and evaluate innovative techniques. Assists in training students and new/junior laboratory personnel in laboratory techniques and equipment operation.
Troubleshoot and correct erroneous results or problems with laboratory equipment. Reproduces and evaluates techniques and results for accuracy.
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment. Maintain cell cultures. Operate standard laboratory equipment.
Use and maintains laboratory equipment appropriately. Responds to obviously erroneous results or problems with equipment. Assists in daily operations of the laboratory including answering phone, maintaining lab supplies, organization, and cleanliness.. Provides appropriate safety monitoring checks as assigned (radiation safety, biosafety, etc.).
Demonstrate competence in specific knowledge, skills and behaviors. Effectively communicate with team members and contribute to their growth by sharing knowledge, experience, and skills.
Stay abreast of changes in key systems. Serve as a resource to the department in specific area(s).
Maintain/manage strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other key stakeholders. Respond to requests quickly and effectively.
Identify and understand customer needs and expectations and meets them. Communicate any relevant information to clients, colleagues, and other key stakeholders.
