Summary of Job Duties:

The Center for Research, Health, and Social Justice is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Research Assistant The duties will include assisting the Project 3 team with REDCap project modification, data management, and data collection. The Research Assistant will assist the Project 3 Research Director with, project communication task, data entry, and coordination. This position will synthesize data and writereports, maintain accurate records and assist with the quality control and integrity of the data. The Research Assistant must be willing and available to travel to rural counties occasionally and work with community partners, and have access to his/her own transportation. This is a grant funded position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of research or public health research experience required. Experience working with a diverse population and must be sensitive to cultural differences and open to working with people of varied backgrounds

  • Must have a valid driver's license and car transportation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities::

  • Experience in developing PowerPoint presentations.

  • Use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a team and independently.

  • Be highly motivated; and creative; have critical thinking skills; be resourceful; responsible; accountable; and collaborative; and have problem-solving skills.

  • Must be willing to learn how to analyze data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's in Public Health or related field

  • Experience in working on community-based intervention studies.

  • Experience with using data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Google Charts, Infogram, etc.) to create a graphical representation of data.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Works under the supervision of the Project 3 Research director to modify REDCap instruments, enter data, and maintain accurate records.

  • Manage written project communication with research staff and participants; assist with the quality control and integrity of the data.

  • Assist the Director with preparing scientific presentations and publications.

  • Developlay-friendly data dissemination products.

  • Promote and model positive multidisciplinary collaboration and interaction with colleagues, management teams, coalition members, ancillary services

  • Participate in regular project meetings, and trainings, provide updates on progress, and communicate regularly with the study team on recruitment and data collection progress.

  • Work with the study team to develop and implement secure systems for assuring the quality, confidentiality, and safety of the data.

  • Work with the data manager to maintain appropriate study logs, records, and databases.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
