Evotec (US) Inc. has a Sample Management Research Assistant position open, located at the Branford, CT facility. The purpose of this position is to provide laboratory processing of client orders, the majority of which will involve manual weighing and liquid handling of compounds. The candidate for this role will be expected to have further due diligence and increased understanding of workflows, SOPs, etc. The position requires a highly motivated individual, able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the successful fulfillment of orders.

The compounds may be potentially hazardous. Prior to start, Evotec (US) Inc. will train the individual in lab safety. Safety glasses, lab coats and gloves will be required while working. Specific site training, automation, computers, and any other material in support of compound management activities will be provided.

Individuals may be required to use an air purifying respirator, at some future date. If implemented, individuals will need to pass a health respirator physical and remove any interfering facial hair.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Tare weighing of vials and other containers and barcoding of consumables.

• May require use of liquid handling instrumentation for the processing of compounds.

• Powder weighing of compounds using a balance and fume hood.

• Position may require long periods of repetitive work.

• Data handling, inventory tracking, accurate record keeping and following established Standard Operating Procedures for assigned tasks.

• Ensure quality control and safety standards adherence.

Required Qualifications:

• Some chemical laboratory experience preferred.

• Use of balances, fume hoods, and basic chemical handling procedures

• Good oral and written communications

• Follow oral and written protocols and instructions from senior lab staff.

• Must adhere to laboratory safety standards.

Education and experience:

BS or equivalent with scientific discipline and 1-2 years' experience preferred.
