Essential Functions
One Research Assistant (RA) is sought to support a research study on carceral conditions and culture. 6 months, renewable, beginning 5/1/2024. This position is supported fully by external funds; therefore, the continuation of employment is contingent on receipt of those external funds.
Essential Functions
Assisting in management of study records, both paper and electronic.
Participating in survey administration, including inside of a custodial environment.
Data coding and management.
Adhering to codes of conduct for research, university activities and correctional institutions.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice or a related discipline
Regional travel is required, with incurred travel expenses reimbursed.
The successful candidate will need to complete trainings for Human Subjects Research in the social sciences required by Drexel University.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with primary data collection, particularly with young adult populations and with conducting confidential semi-structured interviews, is beneficial.
Training or direct experience with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection
Comfort with conducting engaged research with carceral populations, members of vulnerable populations, and agent leadership.
Highly organized and attentive to detail.

This is a Part Time Temporary position classified as Non Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
