Research and Development Specialist

Regular contributions:

• Library preparation and sequencing of in-house samples following a defined protocol

• Performing analytical measurements of synthesis material

• Operating a variety of liquid handling tools for various steps in sample processing

• Reagent preparation in and out of glove boxes.

• Operating chemical handling equipment inside the chemical fume hood

• qPCR bench work for quantitative analysis of synthesis material

• Operation of other analytical hardware after training

• Supporting hazardous waste management

• Assist Senior Biologists and Chemists as directed to support workflow

• Data recording and tracking the quality of reagents, generating scientific reports as needed.

• Routinely populating tracking sheets and run logs (example: library prep, LCMS, sequencer) to help communication and planning out a workload

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, no research experience required; work experience of working in industrial or clinical settings is preferred

• Pipetting and bench work experience is required

• Biochemistry/Engineering knowledge is nice to have.

• Ability to stand for long durations, lift heavy objects in the lab, walk from lab to lab for various operations
