Position Description
Under supervision, will perform the statistical and analytical work associated with the collection, review, and distribution of information.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a learning/data analytics infrastructure for the campus
Develop and automate a learning analytics framework utilizing predictive modeling
Build front-end visualizations and data tools for the wider campus audience
Provide data coachingat all levels of the institution on analyzing and interpreting data to improve instruction, student, and administrative outcomes
Collaborate and consult with others on projects and needs related to research design and data solutions
Reviewslevelsofstudentpreparation;supportsfacultyeffortstoidentifylevelsofknowledge,skill,and abilitytobeexpectedfromstudentsatvariouscourselevels.
Works collaboratively with instructional, Student Services, and administrative programs to design and conductlearningoutcomesassessment;presentsassessmentoptionstoprogramsandassistsprogramsin reportingandintegratinglearningoutcomesassessmentfindings.
Developresearchforevaluationofinstructionalandstudentsupportprogramsandservices.
Developandmaintainprojectdatabasesforanalysisofprogrampatternsandtrends.
Developandmaintainacollectionofdataandreportstosupportdistrictresearchactivity.
Provideresearchsupportandtechnicalassistancerelatedtoinstructionalandstudentservices.
Preparewrittenreportswithaccompanyingtabular,graphic,andstatisticalcontents;descriptionsof analyticalmethodsused;andnarrativeofresultsandconclusions.
Conductstatistical,demographic,andempiricalstudiesforthedistrict'sprogramsandservices.
Designandparticipateinstudiestoevaluatetheeffectivenessoftheimplementationofvariousprogram research.
Reviewslevelsofstudentpreparation;supportsfacultyeffortstoidentifylevelsofknowledge,skill,and abilitytobeexpectedfromstudentsarevariouscourselevels.
Works collaboratively with instructional, Student Services, and administrative programs to design and conductlearningoutcomesassessment;presentassessmentoptionstoprogramsandassistsprogramsin reportingandintegratinglearningoutcomesassessmentfindings.
Attendresearch-relatedmeetings,workshops,andconferencesasappropriate.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with an educational background in social behavioral sciences, statistics, or related field (preferably with emphasis on organizational or educational research).
Knowledge of research and design including standard statistical procedures related to sampling, correlation analysis, projections, instrument design, and qualitative measures applied to educational and social research.
One (1) year of experience in applying practical statistical and research methods.
One (1) year of experience working in a postsecondary education environment including direct contact with faculty, students, and administrative staff.
Demonstrated ability in using standard statistical software packages.
The ability to translate data into actionable information is essential
Expertise in data management
Expertise in predictive modeling and analytics
Knowledge of visualization software and/or reporting-dashboard technology such as Tableau or R-Shiny
Ability to collaborate with others and provide guidance on research and data and their implications for decision-making
Clear evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of a community college environment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree from an accredited institution with educational background in social behavioral sciences, statistics, or related field.
Work as a team member on projects related to postsecondary education planning, institutional research/evaluation and grant/proposal development.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a full-time, 12-month, classified bargaining unit position. Starting date: as soon as possible. Range 35 of the CSEA Salary Schedule, with a starting salary of Step A, $7,097. Excellent benefits package.
Being able and ready to work in-person with Chaffey students, Chaffey employees, or other members of the Chaffey community/Chaffey partners/Chaffey contractors is an essential function of this job.
