The Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking to hire a skilled Research Analyst. This role involves applying computational theory to practice with a strong understanding of diverse IT-related research applications. The incumbent will leverage principles of computational science, computer science, data science, and CI (cyberinfrastructure) software development, alongside domain-specific scientific knowledge and professional programming skills, to support various research projects. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing a range of computational, data science, and CI research tools, managing data, analyzing outcomes, and conducting research on current and emerging HPC (high-performance computing), data, and CI technologies, both hardware and software. The role also involves algorithm development, optimization, and advanced programming for scientific research.
Annual range: $92,600-$202,200
Job Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer / Computational / Data Science, or Domain Sciences with computer / computational / data specialization or equivalent experience
3-5 years of experience in computation science, data science, statistics, or related field, with computer, computational, and/or data management experience
Intermediate knowledge of computational / data science / CI
Advanced skills, and demonstrated experience associated with one or more of the following: computational hardware and software, performance analysis, research, design, implementation and deployment of computational or data science or CI applications and tools
Demonstrated ability to regularly interface with management
Demonstrated ability to contribute research and technical content to grant proposals
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non- technical personnel at various levels in the organization and to external research and education audiences
