About this PositionUses primary and secondary resources to research business and industry trends, analyze potential impacts on Texas Mutual and its customers, and communicate findings to management for use in business and strategic planning. Helps management identify operational and strategic recommendations related to research findings.

Works under general supervision. Responsibilities & Qualifications Essential Functions: Uses primary and secondary resources to research business and industry trends, analyze potential impacts, and communicate findings to management for use in strategic planning, by:

Researching and communicating summarized business environment and industry information to management including: Regional and state economic research, news and trends Legislative research on targeted topics or areas of focus General research on issues related to insurance, education, workforce readiness, safety, competition, etc. National economic, business, industry and technology research, news and trends Analyzing benchmark survey results for use internally and communicating findings to management Collaborating with other company staff and management to gather and analyze customer and competitor intelligence data for use in strategic planning; writing executive summaries Collaborating with other company staff and management to identify and analyze SWOT information and communicate findings to management Interacting, communicating, and meeting, both formally and informally, with internal and external customers and vendors to observe business practices and gain operational knowledge Using analytical and conceptual thinking skills to lead management and staff in exploratory discussions to identify root causes pertaining to company challenges Leveraging desktop applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Access with high proficiency to capture and maximize concepts and information delivery

Required Qualifications:

The researchers within LifeWorks' Strategy Department oversee program evaluation, conduct research, and implement evidence-based solutions to ensure that LifeWorks offers the best programs possible to help youth achieve stable housing, maximize their economic opportunities, and increase their self-sufficiency. We are committed to continually improving our services and advancing our field through rigorous data collection, evaluation of our work, and dissemination of our findings. The Research Analyst will work with the Strategy team and agency programs to accomplish our mission by conducting program evaluations and research projects and sharing key findings to internal and external stakeholders. The Research Analyst is involved in an array of projects focused on transition-age youth, covering the topics of child welfare, youth homelessness, behavioral health, education/workforce development, and youth voice. We're looking for a Research Analyst who is passionate about bridging the bidirectional knowledge gap between research and practice. We need someone who is an eager learner, enjoys working with diverse stakeholders (e.g., clients, staff, external research partners, funders), and can translate complex ideas and research findings into laymen's terms. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, leverage both quantitative and qualitative techniques to answer research questions, and have strong analytic and writing skills. DUTIES * Responsible for using advanced analytic techniques (e.g., multilevel modeling, logistic regression, latent class growth analysis, hazard models, propensity score matching, return-on-investment analysis) to analyze agency data and identify programmatic implications. * Designs and implements process and outcome evaluations and mission-focused research projects. * Oversees the collection of quantitative and qualitative data and manages project timelines and deliverables. * Completes literature reviews and writes IRB proposals. * Prepares Agency reports and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals on an as-needed basis. * Recommends, develops, and delivers staff training related to research and evaluation. * Serves as a liaison to external evaluation partners. * Maintains a library of all relevant program measurement data that is up-to-date and easily accessed. * Supports Grants & Contracts department by completing needs assessments, developing outputs and outcomes, and providing analytic support for the preparation of proposals and reports to funding agencies. * Assists with the execution of a variety of high-impact special projects. * May present findings at national conferences in order to promote the Agency's mission and client-centric approach. QUALIFICATIONS * Master's degree in Statistics, Psychology, Human Development & Family Sciences, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field and 2+ years of experience; or * Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Psychology, Human Development & Family Sciences, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field; and 5+ years of experience. * Preferred experience analyzing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data and drawing logical conclusions. * Preferred advanced proficiency in select statistical packages (SAS and/or R).
