The Lenz and Leuner Labs in the Department of Psychology, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Aide to join our collaborative team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university.

The Lenz Lab is directed by Dr. Kathryn Lenz.

The Leuner lab is directed by Dr. Benedetta Leuner. The Research Aide assists in the general coordination and conduct of research in the Lenz and Leuner laboratories; assists with designing, analyzing, and presenting research experiments, including assisting in ongoing research in studying the effects of contraceptive hormones on the brain and behavior ; manages a rat and/or mouse colony; assists with simple rodent surgeries and tissue collections; performs behavioral testing on rats/mice; performs quantitative Polymerase chain reaction (PCR), Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISAs), immunohistochemistry on rat/mouse tissues; performs microscopic data analysis; prepares solutions and reagents needed for immunohistochemistry and PCR and Western blot; maintains and cleans equipment and facility and orders research supplies; maintains lab records; independently performs a variety of behavioral, biochemical and molecular assays; assists in supervision of undergraduate research assistants.

Minimum Education Required:

High School diploma or Associate Degree required.

Desired Experience:

Research experience working with laboratory rodents desired.

Additional Information:

The pay range for this job profile is $12.60-$16.80. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
