The Samueli Institute works to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-informed treatment modalities, educating the public on well-being practices, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health. Your Role on the Team This Research Administrator will be responsible for assisting in the operational and financial administration of clinical research studies and programs at the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI). Reports to the Administrative Director of Research, the Research Administrator assists on general operational matters, including but limited to regulatory management, scheduling, staff coordination, and purchasing/accounting to support clinical research studies and programs of the SSIHI Research Core. The Research Administrator will also assist with the management and administration of the BraveNet Practice-Based Research Network (a network consisting of national and international sites involved in integrative health research) and associated multisite projects, including basic administrative tasks and scheduling. The Research Administrator will attend Samueli Endowed Chairs research lab weekly meetings and assist in ensuring that research faculty have the administrative support they need to carry out research activities and achieve their research goals. What It Takes to be Successful Required:Academic background and experience in selected areas of research preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience with Microsoft 365 programs (Teams, OneDrive, etc.). Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers. Minimum 2 years' experience in administration in an academic healthcare or clinical environment, preferably in a higher education institution. Preferred: Thorough knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices. Experience with financial management including budget and report preparation. Experience in IRB administration, including submissions and protocol preparation. Experience in the development and management/administration of a university health department or similar environment.
