Job Description:
Pre-Award Administration
Manages all proposal submissions, including new research grant proposals, renewing and/or continuing grants and contracts
Creates bio sketches, letters of support, facilities statements, etc.… for submission to the department grant office
Coordinates with the Clinical Trials Center (CTC) to resolve clinical trials compliance issues
Performs editorial review of language, grammar, punctuation, and contract terms for all proposals o
Reviews contracts to determine whether the activities should be sent through the Division of Sponsored Research (DSR), Purchasing, or the Health Science Center (HSC) Contracts Office and ensures that contracts are in place before services are performed
Post-Award Administration
Budget
Manages all fiscal activity related to any contract, grant, or clinical trial.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining daily activities for all projects, including the release and transfer of funds into appropriate expenditure categories
Ensures expenditures and payments are appropriate and in accordance with agency and award stipulations
Forecasts salary expenditures through the end of the budget period
Responsible for providing administrative coordinator with effort reporting requirements on projects, including information on required cost-sharing
Reporting
Prepares progress reports for PI's to keep them apprised of the project fiscal status, annual reviews, milestones, or other agency reports as needed
Monitors final reporting requirements
Analyzes expenses, develops cost projections, and provides financial tracking and fiscal control to fulfill reporting requirements
Expected Salary:
$68,238-$75,119
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
High-level organizational skills.
Experience working with medical and research professionals.
Experience in facilitating sponsored research activities (pre & post-award)
Knowledgeable in accounting principles and cost accounting standards
Working knowledge of eRA Commons (Federal Electronic Research Administration)
Ability to effectively communicate information through written and verbal interaction.
Ability to interpret, implement, and integrate requirements of various funding agencies
Ability to work within deadlines
Ability to prioritize workload and work with groups
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
